Captiwate vs Drift (now part of Salesloft)

Drift is winding down. Your conversations don’t have to.

Clari + Salesloft announced the gradual sunset of Drift on March 5, 2026 and are pointing customers to 1mind. If you would rather keep humans in the loop — live chat, video and AI on one platform with unlimited seats — Captiwate is built for the switch.

Where Captiwate is different

One product, one roadmap

Drift became a feature inside a larger revenue suite, and on March 5, 2026 Clari + Salesloft announced its gradual sunset in favour of 1mind. Captiwate is the whole company: live chat, video, AI chat, visitor identification and scheduling are one product with one roadmap, not a line item that can be retired.

Humans and AI, not AI only

The path Salesloft points Drift customers to is an AI chat agent. Captiwate runs AI chat 24/7 too — and hands off to a human rep for a live chat, a video call or a co-browsing session the moment a high-intent visitor deserves one.

Published prices, unlimited seats

Drift’s pricing page now redirects to Salesloft and lists no prices. Captiwate publishes its plans: from $15,000/year on monthly visitors, with unlimited seats, conversations and identified companies — so the whole team can pick up conversations without a per-seat bill.

Feature comparison: Captiwate vs Drift

Drift defined conversational marketing. Its public pages now describe a transition to 1mind’s AI chat agents inside Salesloft, so this table compares what each vendor publishes today.

Pricing: a quote vs. a number

Drift never published a price list, and today its pricing page redirects to Salesloft. Captiwate’s plans are public: one number — your monthly visitors — with nothing metered on top.

  • Grow: $15,000/year, up to 20,000 monthly visitors

“One thing that should get any business excited about Captiwate is when there is a call coming from a visitor. A user is calling the website — that is pretty cool, and that is the dopamine hit.”

Frequently asked questions

Is Drift being shut down?

Per Salesloft’s newsroom (March 5, 2026), Clari + Salesloft are gradually sunsetting Drift’s conversational marketing solution as part of an exclusive partnership with 1mind, and “will refer existing Drift clients to 1mind as the successor”. The Salesloft Drift page reads “We’ve transitioned from Drift to 1mind”. No end-of-life date was published as of 2026-09-03.

Can I migrate from Drift to Captiwate?

Yes. Captiwate takes care of teams coming from Drift financially and during the move. Setup is a single JavaScript snippet; from there you connect HubSpot or Salesforce, point alerts at Slack or Teams, rebuild your qualification and routing as automation flows and train AI chat on your site. Bring your current Drift playbooks and routing rules to a 30-minute walkthrough on your own website and leave with a plan.

How does Drift pricing compare to Captiwate’s?

Drift does not list prices publicly: drift.com/pricing redirects to Salesloft’s Drift page, which shows no plans or prices. Captiwate publishes its pricing: annual plans on monthly visitors — Grow is $15,000/year up to 20,000 visitors, Scale is $30,000/year up to 100,000, Unlimited is custom — with unlimited seats, conversations and identified companies included.

Is Captiwate GDPR / CCPA compliant?

Yes. Captiwate is GDPR and CCPA compliant, SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001 certified, and offers customizable data-privacy options to meet the specific needs of your customers. Custom data residency is available on the Unlimited plan.

Do I need both Drift and Captiwate during the transition?

You can run both while you switch, but most teams cut over in one go to avoid two chat widgets on the same pages. Captiwate covers what Drift did on the website — chat, qualification, routing, meeting booking — plus video, co-browsing and visitor identification, so there is rarely a reason to keep Drift running once Captiwate is live.

Does Captiwate have an AI chat agent like 1mind?

Yes. AI chat is included on every plan and runs 24/7, answering questions, qualifying visitors and booking meetings. The difference is the hand-off: when a high-intent visitor is on the page, a human rep can take over in chat, on a video call or in a co-browsing session.

Is there a free trial?

No, a free trial is not available today. We offer a fully customized demo built around your website, so you can see how Captiwate would work on your live site before committing.
